We create our community based on three values:
Science | Leadership | Culture
Through education we support our students in forging and reinforcing traits related to these values.
We want Columbus High School graduates to be mature young people, who knowingly choose their university courses and set up businesses; who develop professionally and take up the role of a leader in their environment with courage and confidence.
This is why we decided to utilize the experience and solutions designed by an international program Leader in Me based on a bestselling book ,,7 Habits of Highly Effective People” written by Stephen Covey.

Let’s set common
Goals
1. Courage
,,The world belongs to God, but He rents it to the brave”
In our school we dream of bringing up people to be brave, independent thinkers, who know how to defend express and defend their ideas. People, who follow their dreams and are followed by others. Those, that aim and reach higher than the ordinary.
2. Sincerity
“Sincerity is rarely seen nowadays. People either don’t know who they are or fear to show their true self to the world.”
~ Kim Holden
In Columbus High School we set personal development of students as our priority. Particular emphasis is put on increasing self-awareness, finding one’s life path and the ability to express oneself in a healthy, harmless manner. We are deeply convinced that living a true, cohesive life, close to others and the world, as well as oneself brings joy to every person.
3. Service
“Serving others without the feeling of humility is only a means to fulfill one’s egoistic, selfish needs.”
~ Gandhi Mahatma
In a world where egocentrism is omnipresent, we want our students to learn sympathy, responsiveness and how to open up to others – traits so indispensable when building modern social competence. The ability to coexist as a part of a group and in relation with other people will give them the tools to cope in any profession and in every stage of life.
In Columbus High School we go by values and guidelines deriving from Christian anthropology.
Safe harbour
Columbus High School is a safe space. It’s an environment, where:
- Students will not be vulnerable to the dangers of drugs, aggression or violence,
- Students are not afraid of going to school and expressing their opinions, for they know their views will be respected,
- Sensitivity and unique traits are protected and supported,
- Students feel like business partners, who are treated seriously and given responsibilities.
Operating in accordance to said values and guidelines is to transform our students through the process of education into natural leaders in any environment they end up in. People, who are brave, responsible, aware of their strengths and weaknesses, setting their goals and following their dreams, constantly striving to develop and work on themselves. Most importantly, people who keep their mind open to the world and the people around them – people, who will gladly serve others.

Sailing academy
Uczniowie nabywają praktycznych umiejętności żeglarskich uczestnicząc systematycznie w rejsach szkoleniowych jachtu Atlanta – pozostającego do dyspozycji szkoły, na Zatoce Gdańskiej.
Jednocześnie przygotowujemy dzięki temu uczniów do zdobywania uprawnień i patentów żeglarskich
The students gain practical sailing skills by regularly taking part in training cruises aboard Atlanta yacht – being at school’s disposal in the Gdańsk Bay.
Simultaneously, the students are being prepared to take the exam for sailing license. We cooperate with partners organizing such courses.
Once during a four-year course of education, every student is enabled to join the ,,under sail” course” – a month-long cruise carried out on a training vessel.
The Columbus Foundation
Along the years of sharing knowledge and experience we have provided support for many young people who cared about their future. Networks and relationships they have built while attending the projects started by the Columbus Foundation benefit them already on their way of development.
